Self Publishing != Geeking Out
I spent most of yesterday in the Safari browser on my Mac trying to get the word out on Chasmic Rush and after many months of designing and coding it was difficult to feel that I was productive.
When coding, you can easily see the results of what you are doing, more so if it’s a game or an app. However with 15 tabs open in Safari trying to post and follow the right thing on various pages, updating Facebook, Youtube and Twitter and multiple threads it all seemed to send my head spinning.
The only way to rationalise this is to think that the second half of the reward of creating something is to actually share it, even if it comes with the risk that nobody likes it.
The other thing is that I learned something new.
What’s amazing is that it gets the point of the game across more quickly than I can say it.
